Pictured above are three of the sixty BYU students who participated in the second annual Utah Conference on Undergraduate Research in February. The conference gave students an opportunity to share their academic work with the local scholarly community. Students from over a dozen different institutions for higher learning participated in the event, and BYU had the largest representation of students.
Mechanical engineering student Jonathan Goodsell and physics major Jonathan Brame
are working alongside Dr. David Allred and the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
to create a light-weight, low-power manometer for use in space exploration missions.
Their work will not only prove useful in spacecraft orienting, as Dr. Allred believes,
"they are most likely to succeed in having a project that goes onboard spacecraft,"
but it will also help Goodsell and Brame achieve their dreams.
